Lake Nascimento

For being my first time at Lake Nacimiento, and not pre-fishing, I knew it was gonna be a tough day. The Last Best bass tournament out there didn't take much to win.  If you got a three pounder that was something to talk about.  My father and I arrived for sign ups around 5:10 that morning.  The air temperature was 41°F with a little fog.  We launched the boat and waited for blast off.  The water temperature was 55°F with muddy water 2 ft clarity and floating wood. We stayed on main lake points and secondary points. Sat in 20-40 foot water and threw up shallow and slowly dragged Senkos and jigs back to the boat. Also 4' skinny bear  swimbait look for those active fish. Majority of the bass caught were in chuncky rock. The bite shut off like a light switch in the afternoon water warmed up to 60°F fish seemed to move deeper. Air temperature hit 81°F before check in. Wind blew on and off all day 5 to 10mph. The majority of bass~ caught were clones between 1.5-1.8 pounds,  Still looking for that three pounder or bigger.
